I was at university when blogging really started to hit, there’s weren’t that many blogs about but writing some software seemed like a good challenge for me and so I went about scripting my own blog server.
It worked quite well at the time but eventually I just moved to one of the more feature complete pieces of software
I felt that writing was something I wasn’t particularly good at and wanted to keep a blog so that
a) i had something to look back on
b) i had practice in getting my thoughts down on paper.
My blogging has waxed and wained over the years, now it’s more
microblogging than blogging, but it’s interesting how mainstream writing a blog is now. I think my flatmates looked at me a bit weird when I started blogging.
